To the family of Dear Satya Pal Soin, please accept our deepest condolences. Soin was my classmate in pharmacy in Amritsar, Punjab where we did our diploma, and then Chandigarh, Punjab, India where we completed our B. Pharm. He used to visit me at Lady Harding Medical College, in New Delhi before he moved to the USA. Soin, being a friend, emphatically told me to come to America. And he helped me get started in America. I came to him with eight US dollars in my hand, which wasn’t enough to even pay the taxi to his apartment in Washington DC in 1971. He took me into his home and guided me through finding a job to start my life in America. I owe him a debt of gratitude and the Soin family.
