With much sadness, we share the news of Alan Zacker’s passing on November 17, 2023 after a brief illness.
Born in 1935, Alan was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and teacher to many. He lived his 87 years with an infectious spirit and a sense of humor that was immediately apparent upon meeting him.
Alan was a gifted and dedicated high school English teacher for over 50 years in both the Levittown and Mineola School Districts on Long Island. He was a student favorite who was always there to support and uplift his kids.
Alan was pre-deceased by his wife, Arlene, and is survived by his children, Cory and Craig, his grandson, Jaron, his caretakers, Irline and Kevin, and countless friends and colleagues with whom he shared decades of memories.
Visitation will take place at Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook on Sunday, November 26, 2023 between 3 - 6pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Raymond’s Church in East Rockaway on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 9:45am.
