Regina Anne Flaherty, 65 of Lynbrook, NY passed away peacefully September 18th, 2017 at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY.
Born November, 2nd 1951 in Queens, NY to John and Regina (Connelly) Wieninger. Member of the Sodality of Our Lady of St. Raymond's Parish. President of the Friends of the Lynbrook Library & Trustee of the Lynbrook Library Board. Nassau County Woman of Distinction 2011. Member of the Lynbrook Owls Moms & Dads Club, Gridiron Club & PTA. Famously known in the neighborhood as a baker of chocolate chip & rainbow cookies, crumb cake & whoopee pies just to name a few. Birthday dinners & birthday cakes were another specialty. Nana to countless friends and neighbors in both Lynbrook & Oceanside.
Devoted Wife of Raymond Flaherty. Loving Mother of Kristin (Kevin) Schmitt and John (Dana) Flaherty. Nana to Sydney and Thomas Schmitt, Jason, Marcus and Grace. Sister to Christine Wasko & Great Aunt to Nicole Audi.
Funeral Mass to be held 9:45 am Thursday September 21st, 2017 at St. Raymond's Church 263 Atlantic Ave East Rockaway, NY 11518. Wake Wednesday September 20th , 2017 Perry's Funeral Home 118 Union Ave Lynbrook, NY 11563, visiting hours 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Following the funeral mass, starting at 11:30 am, please join us for a remembrance at the Lynbrook Elks, 57 Hempstead Ave, Lynbrook (food & drinks will be provided)
