Dad,
It’s hard to believe you are gone. In the hospital you said you needed more time for your legacy.
What you didn’t realize is you had established that legacy a long time ago. Among many things, the greatest attribute of your legacy is your kind heart and generous nature.
You always gave from the heart. You gave money, time and support.
You taught us to love, forgive and participate easily.
We all know how much you loved us, especially mom. You loved your children, your grandchildren, your family, friends and country.
Just as recently as this Memorial Day you were still volunteering and raising money for the post. You were so proud when you came home and showed us the poppy contribution box. I remember you showing us the box and saying they don’t.t just put dollar bills in any more. Look at those 5, 10 and even a 20.
We will miss you; the post will miss you, but know you served us and your country well.
I know you are looking down and loving that everyone is around you. We will celebrate your life, thoughtfulness and kindness forever. With deepest love and gratitude for teaching me and everyone you came in contact with to be a kind considerate person.
Thank you for all your love and we will remember it forever
You will always be remembered for being a generous, loving person,
Love Always
Roseann

I have wonderful memories of my Dad. He was very creative and had many interests. I am the same. Whatever hobby I was interested in he would support me. From my first sewing machine to painting, chocolate making, ceramics.etc...he would get involved and sit with me.He liked doing it just as much. He helped with school projects and much later when I started my drapery business , he helped me install my first jobs. I learned so much from just watching him
He loved my mom Eleanor very much. They had met at 16 and 18 and were married after he came home from the Korean war. They found the little "dollhouse" we grew up in and my mom still lives in today. He worked very very hard. First as a milk man and then in the shoe repair shop. He was a natural entrepreneur. Loved people and built his business up to support us all. His presence is felt in that little house. He is everywhere. Converting the garage into a workshop so he could build furniture and holiday outdoor ornaments. He set up my old bedroom as a stained glass studio.
I could go on and on. Family and friends were very important to him and we spent holidays together. He will be missed dearly. We treasure this past Mother's Day when we were all together. He loved his children and grandchildren passionately. He loved the guys at the veterans post . I can't believe he's gone. He wanted to live forever. We thought he would. Rest in peace Dad. Love you. Sophia
