Obituary of Joseph F. Caggiano

CAGGIANO- Joseph F. of Valley Stream born in Brooklyn on February 11, 1941 passed away suddenly on February 24, 2009 with his family by his side. Joseph was married to the late Andrea Caggiano, love of his life and reunited with her on what would have been their 47th Wedding Anniversary. Joseph is survived and cherished by his children Diana and Billy Gerhardt, Joann and Dino Centrone and is the adored "POPPY" of Joseph and Nicholas Centrone. Joseph also leaves behind his loving Fiancée Sharon Columbo and her family, Jeanine, Kathleen, David and Lauren, his Mother Anne her husband Robert, brothers and sisters, Richard Pitigliano, Maryanne C. Hoesel, Robin and John Pitigliano and many sister's in law's, nieces, nephews and friends who thought the world of him. Joseph was a respected PDDGER Life Time member of the Lynbrook Elks Lodge #1515 and served as the Chairman of the Board for New York Elks Lodge #1. Although his accomplishments were endless his biggest, proudest and most important was his selfless, unconditional love and loyalty he had for his family. To know Joe Caggiano was to love him, he gave so much of his heart away that in the end didn't have enough for himself. Everyone who knew him will have the privilege of keeping a piece of his heart in their hearts forever. He will be sadly missed by everyone he touched but leaves us with a lifetime of wonderful memories that we will all cherish forever. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday and Sunday 2-4, 7-9 pm at the Perry Funeral Home Inc. 118 Union Avenue Lynbrook, LI Funeral Mass Holy Name of Mary Church Valley Stream, LI Monday 9:30 am.
