James Drohan was certainly a rare gem of a person. I imagine I could live 100 lives and not meet someone as lively and kind as him. he will always be loved and remembered as the beautiful and stubborn man that he was. I could not be more grateful to have known this man. It would be a privilege to know him for just a day. Luckily I was honored with 20 loving years in his life. Grandpa, your humor and wit will always be with me, and your smile will never fade. Thank you, for believing in me and showing me that not everything should be serious. Most of all thank you for showing me love. In the end thats all we need, love.

Grandpa was a stubborn old Irishman, who loved his family more than anything. He was always encouraging us to be better and do better. He never shied away from trying to con you out of your candy bar! I will truly miss him. Love you Grandpa

Papa was the best grandfather I could ask for. Sweet, with the perfect dash of snark, and a stubborn streak no one could even hope to break. Strongly opinionated and incredibly outspoken about said opinions, I greatly enjoyed our verbal sparring matches. Although I will always miss him, I know he would want me to keep going. I hope he's happy up in heaven, reunited with his sister Mary, and brothers Walter and John.
