Our sons all played football for the East Rockaway Rocks. I remember when Arleen and Charlie hosted a pre game gathering for the entire team.
They were both so gracious to invite all of the team members and their parents. We had such a great time and you could feel the friendship and love that was in their home.
I always felt that get together inspired the boys to play hard and win their game!
What a special memory for all of us.
Thank you Arleen and Charlie.

Growing up as a childhood friend of the Puglissi brothers there were a few memories of Arleen that always come to mind that always put a smile on my face. First was her aluminum bread drawer with the slide door on top. She always had it stocked with twinkies and gave me full access when i was over the house. She knew the key to my heart knowing i had a sweet tooth. Second was our charter fishing trip. Arleen , John , Brian & myself all went out of freeport for a night charter hoping to catch striped bass. The only one to catch keepers was Mrs. Puglissi because she was tough as nails as the 3 of us tough guy teens were all on the top deck rolling around throwing up because of the rough seas. Last great memory was the night i slept over camped out on Brians floor his blue lobster crawled out of his fish tank and managed to grab a hold of my ear. Thinking i had a tarantula crawling all over me i jumped up and screamed like a little girl running downstairs just to find Mrs Puglissi standing there saying “Brian next time that thing gets out im gonna smack it with a broom”. Just goes to show you the toughness that Arleen had in her and the reason why she was able to fight as long as she did. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family during this difficult time. May she rest peacefully in the hands of God as he awaits her at the white pearly gates of heaven. Arleen you will be missed by all. We love you and till we all meet again
