I did Improv with Louise and I won't forget her energy and warmth when I was the newbie to the group. She truly enjoyed being around people and supporting in any way she could. So sorry her physical body is gone from this world, but her spirit most definitely carries on.

We have known Louise Janet for more than 20 years, but it wasn't long enough. She was exceptionally bright and witty, hysterically funny, and a most gracious and giving person; we enjoyed our long conversations with her. Her contributions and performances with the Historical Society of East Rockaway and Lynbrook were truly memorable. She once brought us "weeble" toys - y'know, "weebles wobble but they don't fall down". Louise's love for Star Trek and James Taylor was a constant. May the
Force be with you, sweet Louise.

Louise and I went to high school together, and her presence made it unforgettable for many of us. Whether we were high kicking on a chorus line of Mulettes, starting a Ski Club although we weren't skiers, or going on a group blind date at West Point Academy (arranged by our religious instructors, no less), Louise made everything memorable. But besides being fun, Louise was also very smart, incredibly witty, and exceptionally generous with her time and talents. In the fifty-plus years since those high school days, she has helped countless people emotionally as they dealt with illness and tragedy, she has helped people physically when they needed something she could do, she has helped people mentally when they had a problem to solve, and of course she has helped many of us legally by explaining the complexities of the law. I am generally not prone to quoting Biblical verse, but one particular passage has been swirling in my head since Louise's untimely passing: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Surely she deserved that epitaph.

I met her through the improv group See Saw. She was so energetic when she took the stage. Even though I had not worked with her in years I will always remember the joy she showed performing.

Q: What will you never forget about Louise?
A: LJ was always smiling and making you feel welcome and she’s one of the only family members who always called me Raymond Stephen.
She had a great love for her family and made her younger cousins always feel welcomed whenever we saw each other.
And she had a great love for Saints like our parents did.
Mary, Joseph and Jesus welcome a good heart and soul home to heaven please Amen.
