Obituary of Peter F. O'Brien

Peter F. O’Brien, long time East Rockaway resident, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024 at the Hospice Inn in Melville, N.Y. He was 71 years old. Husband to Jean (Henshaw). Father to Jimmy (Megan) and Anthony (Sarah). Grandad to Emily, Riley and Zoey. Brother to Tony, Tommy, Peggy, George, Theresa, Joey, Betty, May, Kathleen, Anne, Patty, and Martha. Brother-in-law to Jimmy (Rose) Henshaw and Kay (Jimmy) Gallagher. Uncle and cousin to countless others. Friend to all. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Peter spent his adult years raising his sons in East Rockaway and working as a Plumbing Foreman with the Long Island Railroad. In recent years, Peter relocated to Lake George – a town that always held a special place in his heart. A simple man, Peter got his greatest joy from being with family, especially his sons, daughters-in-law and granddaughters. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
