Lawrence (Larry) P. Meyers, 80, passed away on February 16, 2024. He was born on March 6, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York to John and Catharine Meyers. He is survived by Eileen, his devoted wife of 57 years, their 5 children - Tim, Debby (Michael), Jim (Dorian), Steve (Billie Jean), and Doreen. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren that were the light of his life, Katie and Emily Meyers, Aidan, Grace and Owen McGee, Claire Meyers and Jordyn and Taylor Meyers. He is also survived by his three brothers, John (Nancy), Tony (Nanette), and Vinny (Janice) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a lifelong resident of Lynbrook, Long Island. He attended St. Raymonds Elementary School and Chaminade High School. Larry had several careers during his life including at his father’s brokerage firm on Wall Street, the owner of Arcy Paint in Lynbrook, and Perry’s Funeral Home.
Larry was dedicated to his Catholic faith, family and community. He was an active member of the Elks Club, Our Lady of Peace parish, a coach of the Lynbrook High School hockey team and a 62-year member of the Lynbrook Volunteer Fire Department.
Larry and Eileen raised their children in Lynbrook, New York and spent summers in North Sea Beach Colony, Southampton, New York where he loved to fish, golf and garden. He loved his time with his large family and many friends who he talked to daily.
Larry has been the primary caretaker for his beloved wife Eileen who suffers from brain lymphoma and requires complex and skilled care. Never failing in his devotion to his wife and his family, he cared for her until his final moments.
Larry is loved and missed by many.
