Obituary of Bharat B. Varma

Bharat Bhushan Varma “Bob” as he was affectionately known passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 77. His loving memory is cherished by his wife Ira, his daughter Menakshi, and his son-in-law Ted Fretel. Bob was blessed with two grandchildren Shaila and Aidan who put a smile on his face. Bob is survived by his brother Surinder, his sisters Sunita and Tikka as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and beloved friends. Bob came to America with his wife, Ira in the hopes of living the American Dream. Bob landed a manager position with Nathan’s Famous. He worked hard, climbing the corporate ladder before becoming Vice President and opening the first Nathan’s store in Moscow, Russia. He was proud to work towards achieving the American Dream and proof that it is possible. Bob put his daughter, Menakshi, through college at Binghamton University and law school at Pace University. Bob was a devoted husband, an amazing father and a loving grandfather. He was happiest in life spending time with his beautiful Granddaughter Shaila and his handsome Grandson Aidan. They lit up his life and filled him with happiness and pride.
