Obituary of Marimah Butchana

Beloved Mother, Sister, Sister-in-Law, Aunt, and Grandmother, Marimah (Baba) Butchana, passed away on October 9th 2022, at the age of 90. She was born on June 16th, 1932 at Whim Village in Corentyne-Berbice, Guyana. She was the fourth child, daughter of the late Permaul and Yellaima Bangaroo. Wife of the late Elick Buchan, she is survived by her two Daughters and Son-in-Laws, six Grandchildren, and four Great-Grandchildren, as well as her two Sisters, Brother, Sister-in-Laws, and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Her family meant the world to her. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to cook and made everyone feel welcome and special. Marimah was an exceptional woman and loved by many.
She will be in our hearts and deeply remembered as we celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Marimah's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
