I tried to reach out to my uncle Wayne when he was alive. Unfortunately, he would not acknowledge me. I miss him and loved him. I hope he’s resting in peace and I wish things could’ve been different. But I guess he had his reasons. But I know he’s with my mother June Morris. Who passed away when I was 12 well, I know God has them both now and hopefully I will see them again one day.

Wayne Morris was a friend to 200 thousand cats or more, and as many or more humans as well. He shared his love for cats with all in his spheres, and helped make us all more aware of cat rescues, cat healthcare, and the variety and abundance of "purrsonalities" of cats. Wayne's gift for empowering us to be better aware of cat health, love for cats, cat rescues, and being kind to one another will remain with us always.

I never met Wayne personally, but he touched so many of our lives through his Black Cat Appreciation Facebook group and Black Cat Appreciation Day. Vicki, I didn't know Wayne personally, but through his Black Cat Appreciation Group. I looked forward to his posts no matter what they were. When my Mom died this past September, a friend sent me this and I found some comfort in these words. I pray they may provide comfort for you as well, Vicki. I would give anything to ease the pain you are going through right now. Please know that you are not alone in your grief.
The dead are not distant or absent. They are alongside us. When we lose someone to death, we lose their physical image and presence, they slip out of visible form into invisible presence. This alteration of form is the reason we cannot see the dead. But because we cannot see them does not mean that they are not there. Transfigured into eternal form, the dead cannot reverse the journey and even for one second re-enter their old form to linger with us a while. Though they cannot reappear, they continue to be near us and part of the healing of grief is the refinement of our hearts whereby we come to sense their loving nearness. When we ourselves enter the eternal world and come to see our lives on earth in full view, we may be surprised at the immense assistance and support with which our departed loved ones have accompanied every moment of our lives. In their new, transfigured presence their compassion, understanding and love take on a divine depth, enabling them to become secret angels guiding and sheltering the unfolding of our destiny.
