Obituary of Giancarlo "Johnny" Fracassa

Giancarlo Fracassa passed away on July 2nd, 2022 at the age of 87. He died peacefully at home in his sleep. Giancarlo was born on October 18th, 1934 in Alba Adriatica, Teramo, Italy. As a young man, he came to America in August, 1955 with his parents and sister. Giancarlo dreamed to create a better life in America for his family and dedicated his life and legacy to this pursuit. He resided in Jamaica, Queens where he met his wife Italia in 1956. He began working at Braniff International Airlines at John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1963 until its closing. Giancarlo and Italia married in 1964 and moved to Rosedale, Queens in 1965 together. He bought a home there to raise his children, Tiziana and Carlo, where they had many wonderful years and happy memories together. After decades of continued hard work, he moved to Oceanside in 1993 to pursue his dream to live by the water. Giancarlo loved his family and hosting Sunday dinners, family parties, and holidays. He found great joy in entertaining loved ones, his home was a gathering place for everyone to spend time together and laugh. He loved to fish, garden, do projects around the house, and help others who needed a hand. He always made sure there was fresh fruit and great food when you came over. Him and Italia enjoyed preparing meals and cooking together. It brought him immense happiness to see everyone seated around the table eating, sharing stories, and drinking wine. He dreamed of returning back to his hometown in Italy, knowing that his children and grandchildren were successful due to the life he built for them in America. He is survived by his wife Italia, his children Tiziana and Carlo, his grandchildren Nicole and Michelle, and his sister Silvana. Please join the family in celebrating Giancarlo’s life well-lived.
