Obituary of CLAUDETTE FRENCH
Claudette French passed away at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York on April 2, 2020 at the age of 74. She was the loving wife of Paul French. They met at 19 years old and shared 50 years of marriage together on March 10, 2020.
Born on October 1, 1945 in Georgetown, Guyana, Claudette was the daughter of Ruben and Thelma Brathwaite. She attended Tutorial High school and worked at the Guyana Ministry of Education before emigrating to the United States on February 14, 1970. Claudette was employed at Irving Trust which eventually became JP Morgan Chase for 32 years and retired in 2004 to care for her mother.
Claudette belonged to the Catholic church and spent many years in the Rosary society. Claudette enjoyed listening to music, like oldies, Motown and Smokey Robinson, recording her favorite songs, videos, and shows, eating sweets like vanilla ice cream, chocolate kisses, and black cake with icing, but most of all, Claudette loved spending time with her family. Claudette will be remembered for her pleasant demeanor, being a great listener, her bright smile, and the love that she had for her husband and children.
Claudette is survived by her husband Paul, her daughters, Paulette and Belinda, her son-in-law, Levon and many family and friends who loved her dearly.
A small funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 from 2pm – 4pm at Moore Funeral Home, located at 54 West Jamaica Avenue, Valley Stream, NY 11580. Due to the ongoing pandemic, there have been many restrictions placed on the service. Please contact the family for more information if you plan on attending
