Obituary of Michael T. Saurino
Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael was born in Carbondale PA to parents, Jennie and Michael Saurino. He had an older Brother, Augie who died at 19 doing service for our country. He is survived by his sister Roseann, devastated having lost both her brothers. Michael became a true New Yorker by moving to the lower east side in his early years. Michael graduated from Pace University and went on to become a Bell Telephone employee (now Verizon). Michael loved working there and retired after 47 years of sterling service. He was part of the hero’s that restored the Stock Exchange after September 11th. He usually was the go-to guy his co-workers would ask for guidance. He was always willing and modest, while offering it.
Michael's death was sudden, unexpected and untimely. He leaves behind his heartbroken wife Marie after 33 years of marriage, his beloved Son Michael Jr. and daughter in law, Maureen along with his three beautiful grandchildren, Sienna, 9, William and Christopher 7-year-old twins.
Michael was quiet and unassuming, however an immediate presence, willing to help anyone and never taking credit. He had many talents, and could fix anything.
He loved most music especially Jazz, always trying to improve his congo playing skills. He was the best friend, husband, son, son in law, father, father-in-law, brother, brother- in law, uncle, cousin and Grandfather.
St. Michael the Archangel, the closest to God take him now to rest in the peace he deserves. His worldly work is done.
