Nicholas “Kayo” Fabrizio was born on October 30, 1931 and passed peaceful at home on September 21, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He is predecessed by his brothers, Johnny, Anthony, and his sisters, Carmella, Jessie, and Antoinette. Nick was born and raised in Inwood, attending Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary and Lawrence High School. Upon graduation he entered the United States Army serving in Asia during the Korean War. On returning home he married his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte Pearsall. Over time, Nick and Charlotte’s family grew to include four children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Charlene and Jimmy Killman Jamie and Steve Scholl Chris and Eileen, Christopher and Jaxson Killman Ryan and Katie, Skylar Killman Nanci and Richie, Nick Quaas Rikki and Rob Krieg Michael and Helen, Kevin Fabrizio Michael and Juliana Fabrizio Lori and Marino, Luca, Nick and Ava Cimato But, Nick’s larger family also blossomed over the decades. Beginning his career as a school bus driver for Independent Coach in 1955, he learned every facet of the pupil transportation industry. In 1973, Nick began a 25 year tenure as the General Manager of Independent Coach. His duties, brought him in close contact with nearly every community organization, public and private school, and possibly every parent throughout the Five Towns. In May of 1999, Nick proudly fulfilled his lifetime dream and purchased Independent Coach. His dedication did not end at safely transporting children of the community, Nick always answered the call when his community was in need. He was a generous contributor to local community activities and was always known to lend a hand when problems arose.
