I met Kin during my fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He was always kind and eager to help. When I left Memorial, I continued to see his heart warming smile when attending the annual Alumni meeting. I will miss that smile and his pictures .... My deepest condolences to his family and friends... May he rest in peace. Olcay Cubukcu-Dimopulo.

I'll never forget my first computer -- it was one Kin built from scratch for me. He not only did this, but he walked it across the street and set it up for me -- from the power plugs to the speakers, Kin made sure everything was in place. And, while he would set everything up, he always made his jokes. Whenever I had a problem with an electronic gadget, he was my go-to, and no matter how big the problem, Kin always promised to get it fixed. Kin was the type of neighbor who would ALWAYS take the time to talk to us and listen -- despite how late he'd get home from work, or how cold it was outside. He loved to garden, loved to show me his new plants, his latest renovation, and his cars!! I can never forget his laugh or voice, I just wish I could speak to him once again. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with Irene and the rest of his family. May Kin always rest in peace.

The Kong Brothers have been like family to me ever since I came to the US from Australia. For my first Christmas in America, Kinchi brought me to Long Island. Kin and Irene invited me to stay at their home even though they had never met me. They made me feel so welcome, and of course Kin cooked up a storm! I will always be grateful to Kin and the whole Kong family for being such a huge part of my life. Eng and I wish them much love and support.

My daughter Joanna and I are really saddened about unexpected passing of Kin. He was a long time colleague and good friend of ours, always cheerful and ready to help at every occasion. Very proud of his job, he archived our 20 year dinners and most of important MSKCC events, including our yearly Fellows graduation presentations/receptions and put them into wonderful albums. We remember fondly our diving trips to Bonaire, underwater paradise for photographers, where we met many nice people and where Kin was planning to retire. Not to mention mine pestering him about slides or photography questions each time I passed by his office, with door to the corridor, always open. Our hearts and sympathy go to his family, we will miss him dearly.

I have know Kin since 1978. We met in college and then worked at MSKCC for many years together. When I think of him, I think of adventure, constant learning, fun, nurutuning and love. He was one of the most non- judgemental people I have ever known. In his mind, it's a level playing field with each one of us as important as the next.. It didn't matter if you where a cab driver or a world renowned doctor, you where important to him. He saw everyone as a valuable human being.
He instinctually knew that even though we are different, talk with accents and have a different way of doing things, we all want to be accepted, loved and HEARD. And for all that talking that Kin did, he listened more. He accepted people for who they are, not what he or anyone else thought they should be. He couldn't help it; it was part of his fiber.
So when I think of the spirit of Kin, I think of fun and adventure but I think of love and acceptance and tolerance. His example taught me those important life lessons.
I will miss him dearly but once you know Kin, he's always with you.
