Obituary of Ida Colletti

Ida Colletti was born on April 4th, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the youngest of five children to her loving parents Lucy and James Leone. Ida had one sister Jean and three brothers Tony, Manny and Dicky. Ida mastered the art of tradition, which would provide comfort for her family for years to come. Ida, also known to her family as “Nanny,” was loving, nurturing, gracious and fun spirited. She often was compared to Jacqueline Onassis due to her style and poise. In her early days she mastered typing and worked as a secretary. She was passionate about history, current events, fashion, dancing and, of course, joining her family for any type of outing. She was a wonderful host especially to her entire extended family each year for Christmas Eve when her home was full of love, laughter and all the traditions of an Italian Christmas. She survived by her husband Steven of 66 years and their three daughters Veda Ann, Michele and Stephanie. Ida was grateful for the gift of her seven grandchildren; Tiffany, Ashley, Brittany, Alyssa, Kristen, Dylan and Thomas as well as her great grandchildren Nicholas, Sebastian and Riley whom she adored. She will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones. Although she often responded with “I love you more” to her family she knows our love for her is endless. Ida passed on February 22nd, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 27th, 2021 at 09:45 AM at her parish, St. Helen RC Church in Howard Beach, NY.
