Obituary of Rosaria Sannuto

Rosaria ‘Maluzza’ Sannuto was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on February 12, 2021. She was born to Pantelo and Maria Arena on May 25,1935 in Fagnano Castello, Italy. Rosaria grew up working at her families’ masonry business, while also learning how to become a seamstress. Alongside her mother and sisters, Rosaria learned the traditional Italian homemaking skills that would comfort her own family for years to come. She married Settimio Sannuto in 1954 among family and friends. Rosaria was a loving mother to her three sons, Germano, Marino and Frankie. In 1971 she made the brave journey to immigrate to America, to unite her family with her mother and siblings. Her and her husband settled in Inwood, New York where they made everlasting memories in their home. Over the next 30 years, Rosaria worked as a seamstress while supporting her family. She lovingly watched her five grandchildren and taught them how to be strong, loving and to always put the family first. Rosaria loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious Italian meals for her family. Most weekends, you could find her making meatballs and working on her Sunday sauce. Her garden was plentiful and her house was always filled with love. Anyone who was lucky to know her, will forever have a spot in their heart for Rosaria. The wake is scheduled on February 15th at Perry Funeral home in Lynbrook from 4:00PM - 9:00PM. A funeral service will follow the next day, on Tuesday February 16th at 10AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood, New York.
