Obituary of Warren D. Schust

SCHUST- Warren D, Jr. 67 of North Merrick NY passed away on June 10th, 2020. Warren was born on December 13th, 1952 to Carol and Warren Schust and had one sister Donna Jean. He lived his early years in Howard Beach, NY. Warren was a hard worker and seemed to have been born with the ability to build and fix things, which led him to his career in Auto Mechanics. He married the love of his life Patricia (Nunes) on June 4th, 1977, and most recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Warren enjoyed spending time at his home in Merrick NY, out in his yard and sitting on his patio that he built himself for his family, watching his wife in their vegetable garden and seeing his grandchildren come over to play. Some of his favorite past times were fishing, NASCAR and Classic Car shows. Warren often said that his and Patricia’s greatest achievement in their lives were their 3 daughters, Jessica Lynn (York), Vanessa Patrice (Torborg), and Pamela Lee (Zurita). Warren was so pleased to have three wonderful Sons-in-Law, Gene M. Torborg, Alan Zurita, and Alexander York who he knew would keep his family safe and happy. Warren was blessed to have four grandchildren, Tara Nicole Torborg (15), Alina Lee Zurita (9), Mason Parker Zurita (4), and most recently Keira Lynn Zurita (1). Warren and Patricia were true partners, who had many wonderful years together but also had many difficult ones as Warren’s health slowly failed, they lived for the moment and they took many local day trips since long vacations were tough so that they could continue to spend time together. They made each day together count, built many special memories which could be seen in all the pictures they took together. While Warren may be in heaven now, we know he is looking down on us with those bright blue eyes and encouraging us to keep going. Warren, Dad, Pop, you will be truly missed, and while we have shed many tears we know you are with all those that have gone before you, and you are all enjoying a great big car show, or NASCAR race with a nice cold one close by. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donation be made to the American Heart Association, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or to Cancer.org.
