Obituary of Aldona I. Bush
Please share a memory of Aldona to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Aldona Isabelle Montvila-Bush was born on Etna Street in Brooklyn, NY in 1917. She survived the Spanish flu pandemic, but not the current pandemic in 2020, and passed away on April 30th. She was remembered by her younger sister Teresa, as very smart, because she could learn anything and do it with perfection. Also because "No one could trip her up." She helped raise her 10 year, younger sister with strict rules, Teresa remembers. No doubt, Teresa tried to "trip up" her older sister a few times.
In her most advanced age, Aldona made sure she looked very smart for her birthdays. Aldona would carefully pick out new clothes when they were brought to her, to make sure the colors would mix and match well.
She will be remembered as a very cheerful spirit and her smiling face will be missed. One special memory she told her niece was, "When I wake up in the morning, I say to myself, I can't believe I am still here.'
She was a wife to Ben and mother to Thomas. Both have predeceased her. She loved to dance and danced with her husband any chance she could get. She was an expert at knitting and would knit beautiful sweaters and blankets. In her elderly years she took up painting with equal precision to her other known skills.
She was dearly beloved by her two grandsons, two great granddaughters, niece, and three nephews as well as great nieces and nephews
