Please share a memory of Sheila to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Horohoe, Sheila M., 85, passed on January 20, 2020 surrounded by family to be reunited with her beloved Jimmy. Born in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland to Andrew and Molly Redmond, Sheila first came out to New York in 1956. After a brief trip back to Ireland, she returned to New York in 1958 with her twin, Thomas, and met James Horohoe that same year. He asked her for a dance and they never looked back for 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2012.
Their years together resulted in 2 children, John (Lisa) and Rosemarie (Michael) Byrne, and 7 grandchildren, Heather (Patrick), Kaela (Joshua), Lainey, Fiona, Michelle, Conor, and Declan. Sheila lived to see the birth of her great granddaughter, Ryann, whose first birthday was celebrated the same weekend as Sheila's 85th. Sheila will be greatly missed by her twin brother, Tommy, along with many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Perry Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held Friday at 9:30am in St. Joseph's RC Church in Hewlett, with interment to follow at St. Charles' Cemetery in Farmingdale.
