I am so sorry for the passing of Rod. He was an awesome man, loved by all and always with a quick smile. I will miss his voice and his talks and stories. Dear Pat, Gerry, Bobby and all the Herris family. You all have my deepest sympathies on the loss of Rod. As you know, he, along with all of you, were very important to my Mom, Rita, and my brothers and me when we lost our Dad so long ago. Rod was a fellow Truckie and was with him, and us, through it all and we will never forget that. Pat, I know you lost your best friend and devoted husband, Gerry, Bobby and all, you lost your Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. Please keep all the good memories in your hearts. This is one of the saddest times in our lives. Rod has been more of a close family member then just a close and dear friend. We are going to miss him dearly. We will miss his voice, his actions, his frendship, his counciling his neverending desire to help all those who he met. We could always depend on Rod to provide us with loving support. Rod will be deeply missed and his passing will leave a large void in our lives. We will miss you Rod.

What an absolute shock to learn of Rod's passing. When I last saw him at the benevolent dinner, He was so enthusiastic to be going for the procedure to have a better life.
He touched so many people over his short life. From his days at Lilco to his firehouse family to his family, his wife Pat and granddaughter who he always took care of raising.
May he Rest In Peace. May the entire family be consoled from the fact that he is now, and will always watch down over us all from heaven above.
