II knew your Mom through my parents, Sally and George Perry, when both our Dads were fire chiefs. During that time, I remember spending a long afternoon with your Mom when she taught to me the technique of photo coloring (used to color black-and-white photographs before color film was widely available) We treated areas with vaseline before laying down the colors using q-tips. She was soft-spoken and patient, and just generally a lovely person.

Marianne, Carmine, and Gabriella- my sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mom, Mother-in-Law, andGrandma. She was such a huge part of my childhood that I can't think of just one story, so I'll just share a few that come to mind:
I remember:
-calling her "Mom" and her calling me "Daughter #2." (Your dad always called me "Brat", but that's another story...)
-her "interesting" culinary skills, and how you flipped out when she microwaved a package of frozen spinach, and when she served it, it was still in the shape of the box! (Believe it or not, I always think of her when I happen to cook a box of frozen spinach!)
-her voice when she would say, "Oh, Marianne!" when you were trying to advise her.
-seeing her whenever I went to the library.
-how good-natured she was the many times I slept over, when I know we kept her up to all hours with our talking and giggling.
-her kitchen table, where we would sit on Monday evenings and do our nails, drink coffee, and, if there was any around, devour chocolate.
-how she had the organist play, very solemnly of course, "When the Saints Go Marching In" for your Dad's recessional.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. Your mom was such a free spirit, with such a zest for life, and I loved her dearly. Now, it's your Dad's turn to take care of her again. Unless, of course, he found a good hiding spot. ;)
Love you, Buddy!
